It is Taco Tuesday and we are looking for some spicy toppings for our fantasy teams. It’s the pickups of the week! Sprinkle these on your team for some kick. Maybe chase with some tequila to wash it down. Although we do not advocate drinking during the week. We are responsible, fantasy football playing adults.
We rate each pick up on our Spice-O-Meter. The spicier the better!
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ = Fire him up!

Zach Charbonnet (RB) (pictured above): As soon as Kenneth Walker was ruled out on Sunday, I dialed up my local Bev-Mo and asked for a Charbonnet. They had no idea what I was talking about and hung up on me. Then I hit up Yahoo and saw Charbonnet is only 45% owned. I made a bid for him in every league he was available. When Walker, errr, walked off the field, Coach Pete Carroll immediately made Charbonnet the centerpiece of the running game. He finished with 15 carries for 47 yards and 6 grabs for 22. In a PPR format that is gold. Walker’s oblique injury is just this side of serious, so Charbonnet is a very valuable add. Got FAAB left? You blow it on this kid.

Isaiah Likely (TE): He’s no Mark Andrews, we will give you that, but he is now a starting TE on an offense that scores points. Sure most of those points are rushing TD’s, but if Mark Andrews can score 9 TD’s in this offense, we’ll take half of that with our boy Isaiah. When Likely covered for Andrews week 1 he caught 1 ball for 4 yards, but don’t let that scare you. Last season he covered for him weeks 9 and 18 and posted 1-24-1 and 8-103-0 respectively. Bottom line, he isn’t, errr, likely to post similar totals to Andrews, but he won’t kill you. Expect 4 to 5 catches every week with a TD here and there.

Ty Chandler (RB): He was supposed to have a huge role last week with Alexander Mattison taking a one way ticket to concussion land. Then Mattison shook it off and played, carrying the ball 18 times for 81 yards. But Chandler was still involved, getting 10 carries for 73 and adding a juicy 4 receptions for 37 yards, a season high in catches and yards. We will take 14 touches in this dynamic offense led by the calm and cool Joshua Dobbs. And since Mattison was already on shaky ground before his concussion, Ty’s role can grow even more with or without his fellow back. Add, add, add.

Jayden Reed (WR): The rookie just came off a 5-81-1 line vs. Pittsburgh week 10 and followed it up with a 4-46-0 receiving line to go with a 3-46-1 rushing line. Mind you this was against the putrid Chargers defense, but still. The receiving corps has been ho hum all season, but is finally showing signs of life now that Jordan Love is finding his rhythm. Reed’s already leading the team in receiving with 463 yards and 4 TD’s. That will likely continue as long as nobody else is stepping up. Add to that the Aaron Jones injury and you got yourself some extra touches. How is this young stud only 36% owned on Yahoo?

Demario Douglas (WR): Who is throwing the ball in New England? Bailey Zappe? Mac Jones? Who cares! Demario Douglas led the team in receiving before the Patriot’s bye with a season high 6 catches for 84 yards. His arrow is only pointing up as fellow Pats Kendrick Bourne and DeVante Parker are on IR and in concussion protocol respectively. If a league mate of yours had to dump this guy or if he has simply been hanging on waivers (33% rostered on Yahoo!), snatch him up. He’ll be a solid WR3 with some upside simply due to opportunity.

Jordan Love (QB): If you need a QB, I suppose you can do worse than Jordan Love, but it’s tough to recommend someone who has turned the ball over 10 times. He just had his first 300 yard game, chucking for 322 and 2 TD’s but it was against the Chargers so take that with a Brandon Staley brand grain of salt. Maybe Jordan Love is starting to figure it out and Sunday was a harbinger of things to come. Or maybe he throws for 250 and a pair of picks vs. the Lions in week 12. We just don’t know. Tear open this packet of love at your own risk, but keep those expectations nice and grounded.
